Summary:
Responsible for the safe and efficient movement of products from rail cars to the appropriate stockpiles and tanks.
Perform manual labor as necessary.
This hourly, non-exempt position will work with and without direct supervision.
Essential Functions:
Follow proper GOH / MSHA safety practices and procedures.
Responsible for the safe and efficient movement of products from rail cars to the appropriate stockpiles and tanks.
Perform daily checks, inspections and maintenance of rail facility and associated conveyor system.
Identify mechanical malfunctions, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.
Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
Provide assistance and support for the maintenance of the asphalt storage area.
Proactively communicate in a positive, professional manner with GOH team members.
May be asked to drive a company vehicle.
Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays and occasionally Sundays.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Knowledge of:
Rail cars and their braking systems.
Ability to:
Learn and follow GOH company policies.
Identify and report potential hazards.
Maintain personal and professional safety procedures.
Work with or without direct supervision.
Communicate effectively.
Recognize operation conditions such as moisture problems and contamination in the stockpiles.
Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge to perform the essential functions.
Must be able to operate a welder and cutting torch.
Valid PA driver's license for the state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers preferred.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Previous equipment repair equipment preferred.
Required Training:
MSHA ART / NM / ENM Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to dust, vapors, noise, extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
Ability to walk, bend, lift, and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to shovel.
Ability to work on knees for prolonged periods of time while unloading rail cars.
This is a safety-sensitive position.
